“Infinite” - Original Oil Painting
I titled this painting “Infinite” because I feel like this word can spark two different types of feelings of being overwhelmed. The good kind; where you are overwhelmed by beauty and joy, and the other; a feeling of fear and anxiety. This painting is of Coulee Creek near my Grandmas house in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. When I saw this coulee, this was a good kind of overwhelm, overwhelmed by the beauty, how many greens I saw, the big blue sky, the hills, valleys, etc. But sometimes we also get to a path and get overwhelmed by our options, by our choices, or by how big a project or an event is. I can think of a time a few of weeks ago feeling overwhelmed when I was in the grocery store wearing my mask for the first time feeling overwhelmed by my grocery list, overwhelmed by the paranoia, and overwhelmed by life.
And again, like my other paintings, I wanted to focus on looking up. That even though things can feel overwhelming, in a good way or a bad way, we can remember to look up, and know that there are good days ahead, God is in the details, and this too shall pass. There will be clear skies ahead.
“Infinite” was painted with oil on 100% cotton canvas. Each painting is 20” x 16” and .5” deep. They are both framed in a natural maple wood floating frame, making them roughly 21” x 17” and 1.5” deep. All artwork comes ready to frame with framing D rings and wire hardware placed on the back by yours truly.
All oil paintings have been varnished with a UV protective varnish that keeps safe from fading, dust, or damage. All originals will receive a certificate of authenticity written and signed by me.
