Season of the Soul
Often in a collection I have a painting that I make very last minute. Because I’m in my studio creating all day sometimes I get stuck on a painting or I need a break, or I have an idea because my creativity has been warmed up and I can’t stop thinking about a painting. This painting came from all of those things happening at once.
This fall has been one of the most beautiful fall’s i’ve ever seen here in Utah and I needed to capture a piece of it for me forever. When this painting sells, I will definitely be ordering a print for myself to hang somewhere in my home. I wanted to make this painting as sparkly as I could without adding gold leaf. The reason for this was because I knew it would be in a thicker gold leaf frame and I also didn’t want the gold to distract from the leaves. And in reality, the leaves aren’t truly gold outside, but they do give the impression of glittering golden leaves shining in the warm autumn sun. I instead added flecks of a warm/nearly pale pink white to add the “glitter” in this painting. I am so proud of this painting and I want to jump inside and run down the trail every time I see it.
“Season of the Soul” is a perfect explanation for how I feel about Autumn. And is usually a time when I am painting, listening to good music, baking more, preparing for the holidays, and going on the last final walks outside before it gets too cold.
