The Tiny Shop
Some of you might recognize a version of this painting, I once created years ago digitally. I always see it on my iPad when I am creating new digital work and I have felt it call out to me to make it come to life in oil many times. There is something magical about shopping at Christmas time and, no, I don’t mean mass consumerism. (Bleh!) I mean the magic of window shopping, gift giving, and the magic of a shop’s christmas window displays. As a small shop myself I know the actual magic of my first sales and my first Christmas ornaments I hand made and sold and the excitement that I got to be apart of a small few people’s christmas gifts, and christmas decorating which still leaves a huge smile on my face. I am a shopping girl at heart and I love to romanticize walking down a little busy street of tiny shops at Christmas time.
